Speaker(s)

L’Organisme is a Montreal-based collective that brings choreographers with different approaches and practices together to embody and enact the complexity of human experience through movement, sound, and collaboration. Their aim is to take dance beyond the traditional performance space to bring people closer together; to cultivate compassion and to foster discovery within and for oneself and the other - be they dancer or viewer.

In celebration of PEM's exhibition Zachari Logan: Remembrance, Canadian choreographer Sébastien Provencher, accompanied by performance artists Rodney Diverlus and Drew Bathory, present a dance performance in the museum's historic Ropes Mansion Garden (318 Essex Street in Salem). Performances offer a new interpretation of artist Zachari Logan's celebrated work exploring transformation and the healing potential of grief through gesture and movement. In addition, free open choreography sessions will be held in the gardens on July 14, 15 & 16 and July 21 & 22. The public is invited to visit the gardens and observe the dancers at work.
