Krista Tippett, host of award-winning NPR program "On Being", In 2014, Tippett received the National Humanities Medal at the White House for ‘thoughtfully delving into the mysteries of human existence.’ Krista Tippett's program, On Being, “shines a light on the most extraordinary voices on the great questions of meaning for our time. Scientists in a variety of fields; theologians from an array of faiths; poets, activists, and many others have all opened themselves up to Tippett’s compassionate but searching conversation. In Becoming Wise, Tippett distills the insights she has gleaned from this luminous conversation in its many dimensions into a coherent narrative journey, over time and from mind to mind, into what it means to be human. Critics says the book is “a master class in living, individually and collectively. Wisdom emerges through the raw materials of the everyday.” David Whyte is a revered poet whose work delves into "the conversational nature of reality." An equally interesting an thoughtful figure, he will help drive the conversation with Krista Tippet and explore art of living.

James Miner, Principal of urban design and planning at Sasaki Associates in Watertown, has focused much of his practice on creating more sustainable communities for future generations. Miner lectures and writes extensively on the various ways in which local food can be used to promote economic development and other advantages. Joining the Cambridge Forum discussion will be Jessie Banhazl, founder and CEO of Green City Growers, who over the past five years has proven that sustainable agriculture can be both healthy and profitable. Last year, she planted a barren rooftop at Fenway Park and it yielded 4,000 pounds of produce for urban farmers. By growing fresh food in the most unlikely places, Jessie is helping change people's perception of what is possible by launching her own rooftop farming revolution.
